Transgender darts player Noa-Lynn van Leuven has revealed that she received daily death threats online, reports Daily Mail. The athlete competes in women’s tournaments and has even claimed several titles.

However, her participation has faced strong opposition. Some competitors have called for her exclusion from women’s events, and her Dutch national teammates Anca Zijlstra and Aileen de Graaf refused to play alongside van Leuven, ultimately leaving the national team.

"We all remember when my Dutch team-mates pulled out. I got so many hate messages on my socials.People recognised me on the street. Most were fine and really supportive. But those messages, like death threats... how many did I get? On a daily basis? In that period, yes," van Leuven shared.

Despite the hostility, van Leuven remains determined to continue her career in darts.

Van Leuven made history as the first transgender player to participate in the Grand Slam of Darts. She now aims to break further barriers by becoming the first trans athlete to compete in the World Darts Championship.
