Transfer of Bundesliga's second top scorer to Borussia Dortmund in danger of being scuppered

The transfer of Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy to Borussia Dortmund is at risk of falling through.

The 2023/24 Champions League finalists confirmed that the Guinean forward had arrived for a medical examination and to sign a contract, but an unexpected issue has arisen at the last moment.

"During a medical examination of Serhou Guirassy, an injury was discovered that requires further clarification", – Borussia Dortmund stated.

It was expected that Guirassy would sign a contract with Borussia Dortmund today, extending until the summer of 2028. Stuttgart was set to receive 17.5 million euros for his transfer.

In the past season, Guirassy became the second-highest scorer in the Bundesliga, netting 28 goals in 28 matches, and Stuttgart sensationally finished in second place.

Earlier, Borussia Dortmund signed German national team central defender Waldemar Anton from Stuttgart.
