The Champions League finalist announced the transfer of the German national team defender

Borussia Dortmund, having lost their legendary central defender Mats Hummels this summer, quickly found a replacement.

Today, the Black and Yellows officially announced the transfer of central defender Waldemar Anton from Stuttgart. Borussia Dortmund paid a release clause of €22.5 million for his transfer.

The 27-year-old central defender has signed a contract with Dortmund until the summer of 2028.

Last season, Anton was the captain of Stuttgart, which sensationally finished second in the Bundesliga. He appeared in 33 Bundesliga matches. Anton has only 2 caps for the German national team so far.

Let us recall that Borussia Dortmund reached the Champions League final last season but lost to Real Madrid. In the Bundesliga, they finished in fifth place.
