It's not the first time Borussia Dortmund have let their legends go, but it seems the second farewell to centre-back Mats Hummels will be their last.

"The Bees" announced on their official resources that the 35-year-old centre-back would be leaving the team after 13 years at Signal Iduna Park, but the final stretch of one of the most important players in the club's history came between 2019 and 2024.

For Hummels, this was his second coming to Borussia, as he had already played for Dortmund from 2008 to 2016 before returning for three years to Bayern, of which he is a pupil and for whom he had already played in 2006-2008.

In total, the centre-back has played 508 games for the Yellow-Blacks, scoring 38 goals and giving 23 assists. It should be noted that Hummels was part of Jurgen Klopp's legendary team, which twice became German champions.
