Wolverhampton forward Matheus Cunha is edging ever closer to a move to Manchester United.

Details: According to The Athletic, the Wolves have granted their star permission to undergo a medical with Ruben Amorim’s side. The final details of the transfer are currently being ironed out, with Manchester United having already agreed personal terms with Cunha, and discussions between the clubs ongoing.

Cunha’s contract with Wolverhampton stipulates a release clause of £62.5 million, payable in three installments: the first immediately upon signing, and the remaining two over the next two years. However, Manchester United are aiming to spread the payments over five years instead of two. Still, there is a belief that the deal could be finalized before the transfer window opens on June 1.

Reminder: Earlier reports indicated that Cunha is set to sign a contract with Man United until the summer of 2030, and the lack of European competition will not affect the transfer. The player would be thrilled to join Manchester United, believing it remains one of the greatest clubs in the world.
