The second round group stage match of the Copa Libertadores between Colo-Colo and Fortaleza turned into chaos and tragedy.
Details: Before the game started, hundreds of fans attempted to enter the stadium without tickets, resulting in a crush at the entrance.
When law enforcement used a water cannon to disperse the crowd, a metal barrier fell on them. Unfortunately, this resulted in the death of two fans of the Chilean club.
The authorities are already investigating the circumstances to determine those responsible.
However, the troubles did not end there. News of the fatalities quickly spread throughout the stadium during the match, causing mass brawls and disorder.
In the 72nd minute, numerous fans stormed the field, and the match could not be completed. At that moment, the score was 0-0.
