Tottenham star trying to escape the club? Londoners respond to transfer inquiry
London club Tottenham have rejected an official offer from UAE side Shabab Al Ahli for the transfer of 29-year-old Brazilian forward Richarlison.
Details: According to insider Graeme Bailey of TEAMtalk, the Emirati club’s management personally attempted to reunite the forward with his former Brazil Olympic team coach André Jardine. Richarlison himself was open to the move, but Tottenham rejected the offer because its financial terms did not meet the “Spurs’” demands.
Earlier, the Brazilian’s potential return to Everton fell through, while moves to Trabzonspor and Vasco da Gama also failed to materialize. With Tottenham leaving Richarlison out of their Premier League squad and rejecting the offer from the UAE, the forward risks being left without competitive match action at least until the winter transfer window opens in January.
Over four full seasons with the “Spurs,” the 29-year-old forward has made 134 appearances, scoring 32 goals and providing 15 assists. The player’s current contract with the London club expires next June, while Transfermarkt values him at €25 million.
