The village is located on an isolated island about 160 km from Senegal’s capital, Dakar.
"The process is already underway with regards to electricity. I hope that soon, Fayako will shine as brightly as its people do. I love this village, and I’m proud of its people," said Pape Sarr.
In addition to bringing electricity, the footballer has also donated educational materials to the local school, including a laptop, printer, and solar panels, and has supplied building materials for the expansion of the rural medical center.
Sarr signed with Tottenham in 2021 after moving from French side Metz, but made his debut for the club only on January 1, 2023. In May 2025, he and the London club lifted the Europa League trophy.
