Details: Today, Tottenham’s official page on social network X announced the signing of 20-year-old Japanese center-back Kota Takai.
While official terms have not yet been disclosed, previous reports have repeatedly mentioned a transfer fee of £5 million, which would make Takai’s move one of the most expensive transfers in the history of the Japanese league.
Takai was also named the best young player in the Japanese championship and last season made 31 appearances for Kawasaki Frontale, scoring twice. The young Japanese defender has also earned four caps for his country’s senior national team.
Kota’s contract with Spurs runs until 2030, marking him as a promising asset in strengthening the team’s defensive potential.
