Tottenham fined for player scuffle in match against West Ham
Tottenham has been fined following a scuffle involving players during their 4-1 victory over West Ham in the 8th round of the Premier League.
Details: The club will pay a £20,000 fine due to the misconduct of their players. Tottenham accepted the charge for failing to control their players during the win against West Ham. Both clubs were accused of not ensuring that their players “did not behave in an improper and/or provocative and/or aggressive manner.”
Tottenham admitted to the charge and agreed to the fine for the brawl that occurred during the game last weekend.
Head coach Ange Postecoglou acknowledged that “it didn’t look great,” but he insisted there was “nothing untoward” in the incident.
Quote: “Alright, we got together. I think a few of our players were already on edge at that point, so I’d like to think we went out there and at least defended [each other]. I thought our players kept control, but clearly, the FA feels differently,” Postecoglou said.
It was also previously reported that Tottenham's key player, Son Heung-min, has once again been sidelined due to an injury.
