Tottenham Hotspur announced a partnership with Netflix to promote the release of the second season of the popular series Squid Game, set to premiere on December 26. However, this collaboration has not been well-received by the club’s supporters, reports Daily Mail.

Fans expressed strong dissatisfaction with the club’s decision to host promotional activities during the next two home matches. These events will feature the iconic pink-suited guards from the show walking through the stands and a giant Young-hee doll placed near the stadium entrance.

The announcement triggered a wave of backlash on social media, with some fans even planning a protest against Tottenham’s majority owner, ENIC Group.

“The attempted Americanisation of match days at Spurs is becoming so miserable. They advertise where singers are going to be performing in the concourses, light shows, squid game cosplayers, even the trumpet now. No one cares about it, or wants any of it. Win some games!” one fan commented.

This criticism comes amid a season of inconsistent performances from Spurs. The team currently sits 10th in the Premier League table, trailing the 4th spot by five points.
