Tottenham have lost their appeal regarding the seven-match suspension of midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur.

Details. The Football Association (FA) has upheld the punishment for the Uruguayan midfielder. As a result, Bentancur will miss Tottenham's next two matches — against Manchester United and Liverpool.

Reminder. The Uruguayan midfielder was suspended in November for using racist insults towards teammate Son Heung-min on television.

The Spurs accepted the court's ruling but appealed the severity of the suspension. The player has already served five matches of his ban.

Bentancur was able to feature in the Europa League during his suspension, as it applies only to domestic competitions.
