Tottenham has announced the extension of a new contract with Senegalese midfielder Pape Sarr.

The 21-year-old Senegalese international's new agreement with the London club is set to run until June 2030.

Sarr has been playing for Tottenham since the summer of 2021. Overall, the Senegalese player has appeared in 32 matches across all tournaments and scored one goal. In the current season, he has featured in 19 starting lineups for Spurs, contributing with two goals and assists.

The player had to leave the field prematurely due to an injury sustained during the match against Bournemouth (3-1) in the Premier League on December 31. There's no available information yet regarding the severity of the player's injury.

Sarr was called up to the Senegal national team for the African Cup of Nations matches. The CAN-2023 tournament will take place from January 13 to February 11 in Ivory Coast.

Tottenham currently holds the fifth position in the Premier League standings, trailing the Champions League qualification zone by just one point. On January 5th, Spurs will face Burnley in the FA Cup.
