Top transfer of the summer? Atletico close to acquiring Man City forward

The transfer saga involving Manchester City forward Julián Álvarez is nearing its conclusion.

According to Gastón Edul, Atlético Madrid has submitted an official offer of €70 million to the English champions. It is expected that the clubs will reach a final agreement within the next 48 hours.

Álvarez has firmly decided that he wants to leave Man City this summer, and among all the options, he prefers a move to Atlético. He has a good relationship with his compatriot Diego Simeone, with whom he has discussed the transfer several times.

In addition to Atlético, PSG showed significant interest in the Argentine player, but Álvarez declined the opportunity to join them.

This summer, Atlético sold their primary striker Álvaro Morata to Milan, and Memphis Depay left the club as a free agent. To replace Morata, the club has already signed the second top scorer of last season's La Liga, Alexander Sørloth, from Villarreal.
