Arteta is looking to strengthen the midfield.
Details: According to renowned and respected journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano on his X social media page, London’s Arsenal have made an official move to sign Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimarães.
Reports say the Gunners offered around £55 million for the Brazilian, but the Magpies’ management immediately rejected the offer.
Newcastle consider Guimarães one of the team’s key players and have no intention of letting him go this summer. The club has already informed Arsenal’s representatives that selling the player for the proposed amount is out of the question.
At this stage, negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing.
Last season, Guimarães played 41 matches for Newcastle, scoring 9 goals and providing 8 assists. His contract with the Magpies runs until 2028, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €70 million.
