"Too much hype": Carragher believes Manchester United can't win the Premier League with Rashford
Jamie Carragher has voiced his belief that Manchester United will not win the Premier League title with Marcus Rashford as their primary attacker. He supports the club’s reported willingness to part ways with Rashford and insists that manager Rúben Amorim needs to overhaul the squad ahead of next season.
Quote. "Amorim inherited a team with low productivity and high wages, and it needs trimming so he can invest in the right players. Eleven goals in 48 league matches over the past 18 months isn’t good enough.
There’s been too much hype around Rashford in recent seasons. The potential he showed when breaking into the first team hasn’t been fulfilled. He’s 27 now and should be at his peak. As part of a front three, Rashford is a third option at best. United will never win the Premier League or the Champions League if he’s leading their attack."
Context. Reports have recently suggested that United is open to selling Rashford, with the club willing to consider offers in the region of £40 million. Rashford endured a poor campaign last season under Erik ten Hag, scoring just eight goals in 43 matches. This season, the 27-year-old continues to struggle with inconsistent performances.
