Too expensive! Manchester United hit a wall over Arsenal's asking price

The Gunners want around £60 million for the 19-year-old, who can slot in at both left-back and defensive midfield. In Manchester, that valuation is being called excessive.

The reason the Hale End graduate is even on the market is clear. According to The Guardian, Arsenal are looking to recoup part of the £75 million spent on Bruno Guimarães. The Englishman has been offered to two clubs: alongside United, Chelsea are also exploring the option.

For Manchester, the situation is complicated by the fact that their top target for the left flank remains Lewis Hall, for whom Newcastle are demanding the same £60 million. As cheaper alternatives, Old Trafford have considered Joaquín Séis from Club Brugge for €35 million and Jorge Salinas, who has a release clause of just €16 million. Against this backdrop, the club's management is in no rush to pay a record fee for a player who was mostly used as a substitute last season.
