Inter Miami played its final preseason match before the return of competitive action, drawing 2-2 with Orlando City.

Legendary Argentine Lionel Messi spent 75 minutes on the pitch but failed to score. However, he did have at least one clear chance to find the net, but the 37-year-old forward couldn’t convert.

In one notable moment, Messi found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and attempted a chip shot. But Orlando City’s Peruvian goalkeeper Pedro Gallese read the play perfectly and comfortably dealt with the attempt.

Pedro Gallese has been with Orlando City since 2020. Before moving to MLS, he played for Alianza Lima, Veracruz, Juan Aurich, and Universidad San Martín. He has also earned over 100 caps for the Peruvian national team.

Messi is about to begin his second season in the United States. Last year, he helped Inter Miami win the Leagues Cup, but the team was eliminated in the first round of the MLS playoffs.
