Former Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos recently shared an incident involving Sergio Ramos that didn’t sit well with him during their time together at the club.

Known for his “competitive edge,” Ramos holds the record as the most red-carded player in La Liga history with 21 dismissals, and he wasn’t shy about provoking opponents into receiving reds themselves.

Details: Kroos pointed to one particular incident during the 2017 Champions League final against Juventus, suggesting that Ramos might have intentionally baited an opponent.

Quote: “Sergio Ramos did some things that didn’t sit right with me. As a person, I didn’t appreciate his reaction in certain situations,” Kroos said. “In that final against Juventus, he was responsible for Cuadrado’s red card. He barely touched him, but Sergio made a big deal out of it. No one talked about it after the game,” Kroos told Marca.

Recall: in the final, which ended in a 4-1 victory for Real Madrid, Cuadrado was sent off in the 83rd minute as Juventus was trying to mount a comeback, trailing by two goals.

Currently, Ramos is without a club. The 38-year-old’s last team was Sevilla, where he played in the 2023/24 season.
