To a familiar coach. Wayne Rooney might return to his boyhood club

Wayne Rooney is likely to return to football soon, rejoining his boyhood club Everton and teaming up with David Moyes, reports TalkSport.

Details: New owner Dan Friedkin has dismissed head coach Sean Dyche, opting to replace him with the legendary Scotsman. David Moyes has been appointed as Everton's head coach, 12 years after his departure to Manchester United.

However, Moyes may not be the only club legend making a return. According to talkSPORT football correspondent Alex Crook, discussions are underway about Rooney potentially joining the coaching staff. Notably, Wayne was dismissed by Plymouth on New Year's Eve.

Reminder: Rooney made his Everton debut in 2002 under Moyes' management, playing 117 matches and scoring 28 goals for the club. After a successful career at Manchester United, he returned to Everton in 2017 for another solid season.
