Tiyani Mabunda Lauds Malibongwe Khoza’s Stellar Rise at Sundowns
The quick ascent of youthful defender Malibongwe Khoza, who has excelled in his first season with the first squad, has been praised by Mamelodi Sundowns great Tiyani Mabunda. After impressive performances, the 20-year-old was promoted from the DDC (reserve team). Under coach Miguel Cardoso, he has solidified his position in the starting lineup against fierce opposition from more seasoned defenders.
Mabunda, talking to FARPost, praised Khoza for staying calm, being confident with the ball, and making better decisions. He also pointed out how the young defender is eager and determined to succeed at such a young age.
Khoza, who has played in 14 matches and scored one goal, has been important for Sundowns' strong defense. He has helped the team keep 10 clean sheets this season. The young player’s future at the club seems very promising as he keeps performing well both locally and internationally.
With Sundowns requiring a win to advance to the CAF Champions League quarterfinals, having Khoza in the starting lineup might be critical to their success.
