Time to say goodbye! Ivan Rakitić ends his career

Rakitić is set to swap his playing boots for a management role.
Details: Today, Hajduk head coach Gonzalo García gave an interview to Nova TV, confirming Ivan Rakitić's retirement from football.
Rakitić is ending his career. He is incredibly intelligent, has an outstanding feel for the game, and a deep understanding of football. I must admit, he was one of the main reasons I accepted Hajduk’s offer. However, the transition from boots to suit is never an easy one, said the team’s coach.
It’s reported that the Croatian will remain within the club’s structure and take up a role in the management system.
Rakitić’s professional career began back in 2005 when he signed his first contract with Basel. Since then, Ivan has played for clubs such as Schalke, Sevilla, Barcelona, Al-Shabab, Hajduk, and the Croatian national team.
Over his career, he made 887 appearances, scoring 125 goals and providing 141 assists.
