The transfer saga surrounding Julian Alvarez is gaining momentum.

Details: According to renowned and respected journalist and insider Ekrem Konur on his social media page X, the management of Barcelona have entered the first stage of negotiations with representatives of the 25-year-old Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez.

It is reported that, with financial sanctions easing, Barcelona are ready to make a move for the Argentine striker, despite Atletico's firm stance.

Barça’s sporting director Deco has already met with the player’s representatives to discuss the initial details of a possible agreement. At this stage, there is no official information on the outcome of the talks. However, considering Atletico have made it clear that Alvarez is not for sale, negotiations will be extremely challenging for the Catalan club.

This season, Julian Alvarez has played 27 matches for Atletico Madrid, scoring 11 goals and providing 5 assists. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at €100 million, and his current contract with Los Colchoneros runs until 2030.

Reminder: Transfer bombshell! Barcelona to sign Bernardo Silva
