Michael Olise will need to pay extra attention when packing his bags before heading back to France.

Details: According to SportBible, a can of VELO nicotine pouches was found in the 24-year-old footballer's locker. The product appeared in a photo Olise posted on Instagram ahead of the World Cup round of 16 clash against Paraguay.

The issue is that since April 1, 2026, France has banned the production, transportation, import, possession, purchase, and use of nicotine pouches and other oral nicotine products.

This means Olise is strictly forbidden from bringing the can from the USA into France. SportBible reports that if he attempts to bring the banned item through customs, the Bayern Munich star could theoretically face up to three years behind bars. So, Olise will have to leave his nicotine pouches behind in the United States.

It's worth noting that Olise has already provided five assists at the 2026 World Cup. The Frenchman is just one assist away from equaling Pelé's record of six assists at the 1970 tournament.

Reminder: Mbappé influence? Bayern Munich star wants to join Real Madrid.
