Three outbound transfers from the English Premier League did not materialize on the final day of the transfer window due to clubs failing to complete all the necessary paperwork in time.

Winger Said Benrahma of West Ham managed to arrive in Lyon, sign a contract, but the London club couldn't register the player's transfer in time. Lyon appealed to FIFA, but the appeal was rejected.

Benrahma is not the sole West Ham player the club failed to sell. A similar situation arose with Pablo Fornals, who was on the verge of a move to Real Betis.

Right-back Serge Aurier from Nottingham Forest and the Ivory Coast national team did not manage to make the switch to Galatasaray.

In the summer, a similar fate befell Fulham's central midfielder Joao Palhinha, who was supposed to move to Bayern Munich for around 60 million euros. He arrived in Munich, signed all the documents, took photos with the club shirt for the presentation, but the deal could not be registered in time.
