The new Serie A season kicks off this weekend, with reigning champions Inter facing Genoa on August 17.

However, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Simone Inzaghi’s squad may be without three players. Inter will certainly be without new signing Piotr Zieliński, who is still regaining fitness and is likely to be available for the second round of Serie A.

Additionally, Stefan de Vrij will not travel to Genoa, and the availability of Kristjan Asllani remains uncertain, with a decision on his participation to be made on Friday. Fortunately, Mehdi Taremi will be fit for the match despite the injury he sustained two weeks ago.

It is worth noting that Inter’s top scorer, Lautaro Martínez, will remain with the Nerazzurri for the foreseeable future, as the club has officially announced that the Argentine has extended his contract until the summer of 2029.

By the way, Marseille have loaned the Inter midfielder for €1m with an option to buy him back for €36m.
