"This is my style, and I won't change it" - Caicedo responds to criticism over frequent sendings-off
Chelsea midfielder Moisés Caicedo, ahead of the crucial Champions League clash against Napoli, addressed criticism regarding his discipline.
Details: At the pre-match press conference, Caicedo admitted he needs to learn from his mistakes but emphasized that his aggressive style of play is exactly what makes him valuable, and he has no intention of going soft on the pitch.
It’s worth noting that this season, the 24-year-old Ecuadorian has already missed five games due to suspensions, having picked up 12 yellow cards and 2 reds in 31 matches.
The Blues’ head coach, Liam Rosenior, has given his full backing to his player, calling him one of the best holding midfielders in the world. At the press conference, Rosenior highlighted that despite his youth, Caicedo reads the game like a 35-year-old veteran. The coach stressed he wouldn’t trade Moisés for any other player in his position and sees his job as helping the midfielder progress further while preserving his unique energy.
It’s worth mentioning that the Champions League matchday 8 fixture between Napoli and Chelsea will take place tomorrow, January 28, at 21:00 Central European Time.
Reminder: Raheem Sterling is leaving Chelsea: a transfer is expected in the coming days.
