Details: Earlier today in Porto Alegre, the 7th round of the Betano Série A saw Grêmio host Vitória on their home turf, but the match was overshadowed by a horrifying incident involving 28-year-old Grêmio left-back Marlon.
In the 76th minute, Marlon made a solo run, which an opposing player tried to halt with a sliding tackle. However, the mistimed challenge resulted in Marlon’s leg being gruesomely broken in half.
Images of Marlon’s leg twisted in the wrong direction quickly went viral across social media, leaving fans in shock and declaring it one of the most dreadful injuries they have ever witnessed.
At the moment, it is known that Marlon will undergo surgery, after which he will begin the recovery process. However, his season is already over.
