Senegal captain Sadio Mané could not stay silent and also commented on what he considers to be a grossly unjust decision by the federation, which, in Mané's view, is the result of corruption:

"What happened has gone too far. This is not the football we fight for, and not the Africa we believe in. There is too much corruption in our game, and it’s killing the passion of millions of fans across the continent. Players give their all on the pitch, but decisions made off it determine the outcome of matches and the fate of trophies. I am deeply disappointed not only for Senegal but for African football as a whole. We deserve better. Fans deserve justice, transparency, and respect." said Mané.

This tournament was truly special for Sadio. The Al Nassr winger was named player of the tournament and also lifted the much-coveted trophy with his national team.
