Borussia Dortmund has always been known for its attacking football and high-scoring matches, but November 22 holds a special place in the club’s history.

Details: On November 22, 2016, exactly eight years ago, the highest-scoring match in UEFA Champions League history took place.

In the 2016/17 Champions League group stage, Borussia Dortmund hosted Legia Warsaw, an underdog team that surprisingly made it to the group phase.

The Polish side shocked everyone by taking the lead in the 10th minute, but within the next 10 minutes, Borussia scored three times. In total, the two teams combined for an incredible 12 goals, with Dortmund emerging victorious by an astonishing scoreline of 8-4.

Interestingly, the reverse fixture in Warsaw was also high-scoring, but only for Dortmund, as they won 6-0.

Reminder: It was recently revealed that Borussia legend Marco Reus almost moved into a house that belonged to a known illegal substance dealer.
