Former England manager Gareth Southgate, who led the "Three Lions" to the Euro 2020 final, will be awarded a knighthood as part of the New Year's honors.

Details. According to The Sun, letters confirming the honor have already been sent out by the Honours Committee. Southgate will become the third England manager to receive a knighthood, following Sir Bobby Robson and Sir Alf Ramsey.

With a record of 64 wins, 20 draws, and only 18 losses in 102 matches, Southgate is the most successful England manager since Sir Alf Ramsey, who won the 1966 World Cup.

Reminder. After stepping down as manager, Southgate decided to take a break from public life. The former England manager admitted that he enjoys watching the game from the sidelines and has no intention of returning to coaching in the near future.
