Southgate suggests he may not return to coaching
After stepping down as England manager, Gareth Southgate has yet to take on a new job, instead choosing to reflect on his career. This period of reflection has led the former "Three Lions" boss to a somewhat unexpected conclusion for his fans.
Details: Southgate published a message on his LinkedIn account, where he emphasized that he has been thinking about what he will do after eight years at the top of world football. And it may not necessarily involve returning to coaching.
Quote: "After eight years in one of the highest positions in world football, I am consciously taking time to reflect on what I’ve experienced and deeply considering what comes next. The goal of representing my country helped me move forward, gave me structure, and made my life richer. Repeating that will be extremely difficult. That’s why I’m not limiting my future possibilities to staying a football manager.
At the moment, I find my purpose in spending my days supporting the charities I’ve chosen. I’m not the only one over 50 who is considering a change of direction. So, if you're at a similar crossroads, I wish you all the best. I intend to find people I want to work with, as well as projects and passions I want to pursue. I will place purpose first on my list, because in the difficult moments we all face, purpose will keep us going."
