The president of the Ligue 1 club, Havre, Jean-Michel Roussier, strongly criticized PSG's recent actions.
The issue arose from the previous Ligue 1 match against Clermont, where Luis Enrique fielded 11 new players, compared to the French Cup game against Rennes (1-0). PSG's main stars, including Kylian Mbappé, only came on as substitutes, and as a result, they dropped points in a 1-1 draw.
"They’re taking the piss out of people. It is an expression of huge contempt towards Ligue 1. I made a text to send to Ligue 1 to state how I feel seeing PSG making fun of our league, which has apparently been validated by a lot of people”, – quoted Russier by RMC Sport.
PSG, with 63 points, is comfortably leading in Ligue 1 and can afford rotation. Meanwhile, Havre is fighting for survival, with Clermont being one of its direct competitors.
PSG's rotation can also be explained by their upcoming match against Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday, April 10.
