“They rigged it for Messi to win.” Former French team player Patrice Evra outraged by Argentina's victory at World Cup 2022

Former French national team player and club veteran Patrice Evra is convinced that the 2022 World Cup was unfair, as he stated during an interview with RMC radio.
Evra claimed that Argentina's victory was orchestrated to give Messi the chance to become a world champion. The most surprising part of his statement is that he accused even the French themselves of wanting Messi to win.
“We all know that in 2022, the World Cup was handed to Messi... Everything was already written. Remember the penalty at the start of the final against Argentina,” said Evra.
He recalled the penalty that Argentina earned midway through the first half of the final when Ousmane Dembele committed an unnecessary foul on Angel Di Maria in the penalty area.
A rather controversial statement, although similar theories about that World Cup had been suggested by various fans before. Now, former professional footballer Patrice Evra has decided to create a conspiracy theory as well.
It is worth noting that Evra played 81 matches for the French national team and was a finalist in the Euro 2016, which the French lost.
