Leo Messi comments on missing Argentina's upcoming matches

Lionel Messi was unexpectedly not called up for Argentina's upcoming World Cup 2026 qualifying matches, although explanations soon followed that his absence is due to a minor injury. Now Leo himself has decided to comment on the situation by posting an Instagram story.
The footballer explained that a minor injury prevented him from joining the national team and wrote that he will definitely be supporting Argentina as a fan.

"It's disappointing to miss these two special national team matches against Uruguay and Brazil. As always, I wanted to be there, but at the last minute, a minor injury forced me to take a short medical leave, leaving me out of the game. But I will be cheering and supporting the team just like any other fan. Go Argentina!" Leo wrote.
It should be noted that doctors prohibited the Argentine from participating in the upcoming matches due to a slight adductor muscle injury. It is reported that after the match against Atlanta United, Messi underwent an MRI since he complained of muscle discomfort.
