Neymar recalled that his initial experience at PSG was positive, with fans warmly welcoming him. However, the atmosphere shifted dramatically after his first year when he failed to meet their lofty expectations. This led to fans booing and insulting him, and even staging a protest outside his home, demanding that he leave the club.
“They crossed the line. Our relationship was no longer respectful, and I had always respected them. It was a really tough situation for me. I was saddened by how they treated me towards the end,” Neymar shared.
During his time with PSG, Neymar won five Ligue 1 titles, three Coupe de France trophies, two Coupe de la Ligue titles, and four Trophée des Champions. However, the coveted Champions League title eluded him and the team, with PSG reaching the final only once during his tenure.
In the summer of 2023, Neymar left PSG to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
