They are suspected of rape. Two Premier League players arrested

Two young footballers, plying their trade in the Premier League, have been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, as reported by The Sun.

One of the players is suspected of violence and incitement to rape, while the other is specifically accused of rape. On Monday, April 22nd, the police announced that the footballers had been released on bail pending further investigation. The alleged assault took place on Friday evening.

At present, both 19-year-old footballers have been released on bail pending further investigation. It is reported that the victim approached law enforcement several hours later and filed an official complaint.

"The police arrested two individuals following a report of rape. A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and aiding in rape. The second 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape. Both men were released on bail by the police," said the police spokesperson.

Clubs have begun deliberating on "next steps." It is also unclear whether these two footballers have been suspended from playing pending the completion of the investigation.

As a reminder, the former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, was detained by the police. Rubiales is accused of money laundering, business corruption, disloyal management and membership in a criminal organization.
