The scandalised ex-president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation has been arrested in Madrid La Sexta

Former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, has been detained by the police upon his arrival in Madrid, as reported by Marca.

Rubiales is accused of money laundering, corruption in business, disloyal management, and membership in a criminal organization.

In recent weeks, the former president of RFEF has been vacationing in the Dominican Republic. Today, upon his arrival, he was immediately arrested and transported in a special van to the police station. Rubiales will soon face trial.

Previously, the prosecution also sought a 2.5-year prison sentence for Rubiales for the non-consensual kiss of footballer Jennifer Hermoso during an award ceremony after Spain's victory in the Women's World Cup.

Rubiales himself denies all accusations and declares his willingness to cooperate with the investigation.

Following Rubiales, Angel Maria Villar became the president of RFEF.
