"There's Some Truth": Antony's Agent Reacts to Liverpool Transfer Rumors

Recent speculation suggested that Manchester United winger Antony could have joined Liverpool in 2022 instead of moving to Old Trafford. According to Antony's agent, Junior Pedroso, these aren’t just rumors.

Details: When asked about the story, Pedroso confirmed that Liverpool’s interest in Antony was genuine. However, the deal fell through after Mohamed Salah signed a new contract, as then-manager Jürgen Klopp had considered Antony a potential replacement for the Egyptian star.

Quote: "Yes, there is some truth to this story. Salah renewed his contract, and that made Antony's move to Liverpool impossible," Pedroso told 90min.

Reminder: In the summer of 2022, it was reported that Klopp personally wanted Antony at Liverpool, but the winger ultimately joined Manchester United. Since his move, Antony's performances have been far from exceptional.
