According to Mikel, although Palmer is regaining fitness after his injuries, he is not happy at Chelsea and wants to leave Stamford Bridge as soon as possible:
"Cole Palmer is not really happy. Yes, he struggled with injuries, but he’s back playing, but he’s not quite back to his best. Yes, there are stories about him linking him to Manchester United. They’re not going away. There’s no smoke without fire, man," said Obi Mikel.
Previously, media reports have suggested that Manchester United are the front runners to sign the 23-year-old attacking midfielder. This season, Palmer has played only 19 matches for Chelsea due to frequent injuries, but he has still managed to score 9 goals and provide 3 assists.
Palmer’s current contract with Chelsea runs until 2033, and his market value is estimated at 120 million euros by Transfermarkt.
