After Yamal was left out of the Blaugrana’s starting XI against Sevilla, fans began to worry that the teenage sensation might once again be struggling with fitness issues—he only came on late in that match. But today, Flick put all rumors to rest, making it clear that Lamine is in top shape:
“Lamine Yamal is ready! Yesterday he had a fantastic training session. He’s capable of changing the course of a match.
The Champions League is the best tournament in the world, and everyone wants to be part of it. That’s extra motivation for every player.” Flick said.
This season, Yamal has played 38 matches for Barcelona, netting 20 goals and providing 15 assists.
The first leg between Newcastle and Barcelona ended in a 1-1 draw, with goals from Harvey Barnes and Lamine Yamal.
