There are disagreements between Roma and Mourinho regarding a new contract

The leadership of Roma has initiated negotiations for the extension of the agreement with the team's head coach, José Mourinho.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, there are disagreements between the parties, mainly regarding the duration of the new contract. The management of the Wolves intends to offer the specialist a one-season agreement, lasting until the summer of 2025. Mourinho himself wishes to remain in Rome for an additional two seasons. His current contract with the Portuguese specialist expires at the end of this season.

Reports indicate that the interest from other clubs in the renowned coach might influence Roma's decision to consider Mourinho's terms. There's speculation about a potential return of the Portuguese to Real Madrid. Additionally, Newcastle is open to having the "Special One" at the helm.

Mourinho has been leading Roma since 2021, winning the Conference League in the 2021/2022 season. The Wolves also reached the Europa League final, albeit experiencing a controversial officiating decision that favored their opponents, Sevilla.

In the ongoing Serie A campaign, Roma holds the fourth position, accumulating 25 points in 15 matches. In the Europa League, they have secured at least a spot in the Round of 16, yet they can still vie for the top spot in their group and a place in the Round of 16. To achieve this, they need to defeat Sheriff on December 14th and hope for Slavia's stumble in a parallel match.
