Thembinkosi Lorch ups the ante in Morocco despite Hugo Broos comments that he is old for Bafana Bafana call up
Expectation would be that Thembinkosi Lorch would slow down in form following the ‘he is old’ comments from national team coach Hugo Broos.
You would think that the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates midfield maestro would no longer give splendid displays for Wydad Casablanca.
But, it seems, the comments by Broos are fuelling Lorch for more good performances for his side.
Ove the weekend, the 32-year-old registered his fourth Botola Pro League goal and his fifth in all competitions.
His strike was against Olympique Safi on Sunday just before the half hour mark as Wydad ran away 2-1 victors.
"Now, he is playing good in Morocco, but you have to look as it is. This is not the future, I am very sorry. This is not the future. For Lorch, for the moment, I don't see any reason why I should take him for the team, even if he has good performances in Morocco," Broos said after choosing his squad last Thursday.
But this does not seem like it's slowing down Lorch on scoring for Wydad.
