Thembinkosi Lorch has broken his silence on his move from Wydad Casablanca to Al Ittihad.

Lorch’s move from Morocco to neighbouring Libya is said to be a lucrative deal the Moroccans were not going to decline easily given the six figure amount dangled by the Libyans for Lorch’s signature.

The move was finalised last week but a club to club agreement exists between the two teams as Lorch was allowed to play in Wydad’s two fixtures before officially switching allegiance.

Now the former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns man has spoken fondly of his time in Casablanca as his move is confirmed.

“First of all I’d like to thank the president of the team for bringing me here,” he stated, as per Pan-Africa Football.

“And I would like to thank the technical team, the coach and my teammates for welcoming me into this team. I wish them well.

“Like I said, I would like to thank this team for giving me the opportunity to play – not everyone is getting the opportunity to play for a big team like Wydad,” he added.

“I will take opportunity until I retire, and I wish the team good luck.”
