Australian player Alex de Minaur defeated Rafael Nadal in the second round of the ATP1000 tournament in Barcelona.

De Minaur secured a convincing victory in two sets, with scores of 7:5, 6:1. The match lasted just under 2 hours. During the match, De Minaur committed 3 double faults and converted 2 out of 3 break points.

De Minaur has become the first Australian to defeat Nadal on clay scoreboard. In the next round, Alex will face either Daniel Altmaier or Arthur Fils.

Yesterday, the legendary Nadal returned to the court after health issues and defeated Italy's Flavio Cobolli in the round of 32 at the Barcelona tournament. This marked Nadal's first match since January and his first victory on clay in two years.
