An impeccable return. Nadal secured a serene victory in the first round of the Barcelona tournament

Rafael Nadal had been sidelined for a considerable period due to injuries that befell him. His last official match was back in January 2024.

Only on Tuesday, April 16th, did the Spanish tennis player return to the court and participate in the ATP1000 tournament in Barcelona. In the round of 32, he faced Italy's Flavio Cipolla (ranked 62nd).

Nadal comfortably won his first match upon return. In the first set, Rafael dealt with the Italian with a score of 6-2. In the second set, the Spaniard secured a 6-3 victory. The match lasted a total of 1 hour and 25 minutes. In the next round, Nadal will compete against De Minaur.
