As previously anticipated, the legendary forward Olivier Giroud will no longer play for the French national team.
Today, the 37-year-old striker officially announced his retirement from international football. His final match for "Les Bleus" was the Euro 2024 semifinal defeat against Spain (1-2).
Giroud is the top scorer in the history of the French national team, having netted 57 goals in 137 matches. He became a World Cup champion with France in 2018.
At Euro 2024, Giroud appeared in 4 matches but did not contribute any goals or assists.
This summer, Giroud left AC Milan as a free agent and joined LAFC.
