The Saudi Arabian team Al-Ittihad has set a new transfer record by acquiring Aston Villa winger Moussa Diaby.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi club spent €60 million, including bonuses, on the player. Moussa Diaby will sign a five-year contract and is currently awaiting the necessary paperwork to finalize the deal. Additionally, Al-Ittihad is in negotiations with Manchester City regarding the transfer of goalkeeper Ederson.

It is worth noting that this transfer fee surpasses Al-Ittihad's previous record by nearly €10 million. The highest previous transfer fee was the €46.7 million paid for Fabinho's move from Liverpool to Al-Ittihad last summer.

It was previously reported that the 33-year-old midfielder had given a verbal agreement to move to Al Ittihad. Representatives of the Saudi club allegedly held talks with the player and reached an understanding on the terms of the contract. Now it remains for the clubs to come to an agreement among themselves.

However, Saudi sources cast doubt on the potential transfer of Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne to Al-Ittihad.
