A harrowing incident has occurred involving midfielder Kristoffer Olsson from the Swedish national team, who plays for FC Midtjylland in Denmark.

The official website of Midtjylland reports that Olsson lost consciousness at his home due to an acute brain-related illness.

Currently, the 28-year-old footballer is hospitalized, and his life is being sustained by a mechanical ventilator.

Olsson, an academy product of Arsenal, played one match for the senior team of the Gunners in 2013. Besides Midtjylland, he has had stints with AIK, Anderlecht, and Krasnodar.

Olsson has represented Sweden in 47 matches, making his debut for the national team in 2017.
