The summer's high-priced newcomer for Barcelona is set to join the team in the near hours
Forward Vitor Roque from Atletico Paranaense is set to join Barcelona within 24 hours, as reported by the insider Fabrizio Romano.
Known back home as "Tigrezinho," the player will arrive in the Catalan capital alongside his family and will begin training in the coming days under the guidance of head coach Xavi.
Barcelona completed Roque's transfer in the summer for €40 million, excluding bonuses. The 18-year-old remained on loan at the Brazilian club. Initially expected to stay on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season, the forward's transfer was expedited due to Gavi's injury - Roque will fill in for the injured midfielder in Barca's squad this season.
The highly talented 18-year-old forward has amassed 54 appearances in the Brazilian Serie A, scoring 17 goals and providing four assists. Roque made his debut for the Brazilian national team in March 2023.
Barcelona currently sits in fourth place in the La Liga table after 18 rounds. The team led by Xavi will play its next match in the new year on January 4th against Las Palmas.
